ZOKU族 is an American Tribal Style® (ATS®) belly dance troupe created and directed by Maho Beaumont. We offer fun and friendly classes every week in Chiswick, London, UK. We also perform regularly around the UK - get in touch if you would like us to come and add a splash of joy and colour to your event. 

 

Our history

Maho, a FatChanceBellyDance® (FCBD®) certified teacher with Sister Studio status, taught ATS® in London from 2010 to 2015 before returning to Tokyo, Japan. She regularly teaches at workshops and performs in the UK and internationally (most recently in Germany, Italy, Japan, Venezuela and China).

In March 2015, after much deliberation and to recognise the hard work of her students, Maho named her dance school and troupe, ZOKU族 tribal. ZOKU族 (meaning 'troupe', 'tribe' or 'family' in Japanese) is a reminder of the respect and support we must each show the other members of our tribal family and of the essential dedication to the dance that brought us together. 

The current members of ZOKU族 are: Laura, Nening, Shel and Charlotte. In June 2016, Nening and Shel both attended General Skills training in Barcelona. They have both also completed Teacher Training and each hold FCBD® Sister Studio status.
